I bought a counting set for my 1.5 year old to practice stacking the little rings and color recognition and matching. He was interested but only for a few minutes. My 4.5 year old played with it for a while afterwards. We ended up practicing addition and subtraction as well as “greater than” and “less than”. So while it was intended for my youngest and he wasn’t interested right away (he will eventually), it actually ended up being a lot of fun for my oldest and became a fantastic, spontaneous math lesson.

There several to choose from with different colors and some have more pieces than others, but regardless of which one you choose, it’s a fun educational toy.
*Just be careful with small pieces if you have younger ones !!
